The SOCOM 16 M1A

This rifle I love. In fact, it may even start replacing my AR15s. Parts are easily available, new-old stock magazines can be found at nearly every surplus store online, it uses standard M14 magazines. Nice .308 (7.62) rounds are also readily available. All in all... money well spent!

I’m a fan of this platform as well; curious to know your thoughts on what seems to be a shift toward higher capacity in favor of higher caliber? Seems like different tools for different jobs to me, but for most of us all-arounders, do you think there’s a balance between the two? And what does it look like from your perspective?

If you buy from gunbroker you can get them for around 1800.00, the cost of a Daniels Defense AR. But Palmetto State Armory has had them on sale for 1299.00. A lot of price depends on the color stock you want. The PSA stock is a not-typical color. But you can but a stock (wood or synthetic) for under a few 100.

How does the price compare to the AR?
